Why a Repeatable Workflow Beats Ad-Hoc Handling
Every individual practice covered across the Learn paths — sterile technique, diluent choice, reading documentation, record-keeping — works best when it’s part of a consistent sequence rather than something remembered inconsistently under time pressure. A simple, repeatable workflow turns a list of separate best practices into a single routine you run the same way every time, which is what actually makes those practices stick.
- Prep. Clean the workspace, gather PPE and equipment, and pull the documentation for what you’re about to handle.
- Reconstitute. Confirm the correct diluent, follow sterile technique, and reconstitute according to documented instructions.
- Label. Mark the vial with what it is, when it was reconstituted, and any other detail your records need.
- Use. Handle the vial per your experimental protocol, using a fresh needle per entry for multi-use vials.
- Store. Return it to proper storage conditions immediately — don’t leave it out “for a minute.”
- Log. Record the session in your documentation before moving on to the next task.
